filetomp4.com is a free in-browser converter: MOV/QuickTime and MKV to MP4 using ffmpeg.wasm. Files stay on the visitor's device — nothing is uploaded for conversion.

Purpose

• Help people remux or re-encode local video to MP4 without a cloud upload.
• Publish short guides about QuickTime, no-upload workflows, and related questions.
• Expose a read-only page catalog so agents can find the right tool or guide.

Content / data

Public HTML tools and guides listed in sitemap.xml and /data/pages.json. Conversion never runs on the server.

Steps for agents

1. Search with /api/lookup?q= or MCP lookup_pages.
2. Cite the returned url for the human.
3. Tell them to open the page and choose a local file — you cannot convert video here.

Limits

• No video upload API. No accounts. Auth endpoints are construction-only (503).
• One file at a time in the browser; device memory limits apply.
• Unknown roadmap items remain unknown.
